Chrissie Packles Park East Day School experience began 8 years ago as a parent in the Taste of School Program. Immediately filled with the warmth and love that Park East is known for, Chrissie knew that it was a community that she wanted to be a part of. When the opportunity arose for her to become a full time teacher at a place she believed in and loved, Chrissie jumped at the opportunity. Working with children has always been her passion. From an early age, the work that Chrissie has done with children in summer camps and outreach programs sparked her desire to teach children and broaden their abilities to think and understand independently.

As a student of Psychology and Sociology at Middlebury College in Vermont, Chrissie dug into the problems of the juvenile criminal justice system, and knew that the key to lifting the standards and quality of life for children is a good education provided by teachers who love and are invested in them.

Upon graduating, she continued her studies and received a Master’s in Elementary Education from Teachers College, while working at various public and charter schools throughout New York City. Chrissie’s work led her to different private schools in New York City, and in search for a place she could think of as home. Going back to work after the birth of her two children, Max (9) and Jonathan (7) led her through a number of jobs before landing at Park East, where everything finally clicked. Chrissie loves working in a community that treats each other like a family, surrounded by students who are eager to learn and to make the world a better place.

Chrissie lives on the Upper East Side with her two children who are in 2nd and 3rd grades at Rabbi Arthur Schneier Park East Day School. Park East has been their home away from home, an extended family. Chrissie is so proud and honored to be a part of this community, and for her children to be brought up in an environment that loves, teaches, challenges and enriches them every single day.
